Curriculum

At Crawlers 2 Scholars our focus is on supporting and developing the whole child – social and emotional growth, physical and cognitive growth and character development. We create our lessons utilizing a creative-emergent curriculum that is based on weekly, school wide themes. The first part of our curriculum (creative) is rooted in the teachers developing their own lessons from the weekly theme in each curricular area based on the children’s interests. Each day the classroom teachers will address science, math, language arts, writing, creative art, and dramatic play as a part of their hands-on lessons. The second part of our curriculum (emergent) refers to the fact that each lesson is tailored to the individual child’s emerging abilities and levels in each curricular area. Every lesson’s foundation is created on the CA Preschool Learning Standards for children from birth through age five. By using the standards as a guideline, the lessons that are created for the children are ensured to be age appropriate and help to scaffold them to achieve success in their learning environment. The overall goal of our program is for each child to grow to his/her full potential at their own pace in a fun, loving, and organized environment.

At C2S we are dedicated to providing only the highest quality care and education for our students. We believe the heart of a quality program begins with the people who care for your children.

Our staff works with intention, acts with respect, and is guided by a strong image of the child. Our team of educators meet or exceed the state required qualifications. Our staff is certified in infant and child first aid & CPR. We also perform personal and criminal background checks on all applicants.

Our staff is led by our experienced and dedicated Admin Team. Our Administrators work closely with the teachers and families to facilitate excellent communication and ensure the implementation of quality learning experiences and nurturing care for our children.

Flexible Scheduling

At C2S, we understand that different families have different needs. We offer full day programs, half day programs, and schedules for children to attend 3 or 5 days a week.

Location

Our center is conveniently located next to the Pleasant Hill BART Station. It is a standalone building constructed specifically to serve as an early education center.
